Marc Arends - Sales Executive
I’ll introduce myself first; my name is Marc Arends and I work as a Sales Executive at Omori Europe. I have been working at Omori for 22 years now, but no day is the same. This is due to the many challenges you face, and that is only possible with a positive, flexible attitude.
Our knowledge in the field of packaging is unlimited
Omori gives you a lot of responsibility, which gives you more space to develop yourself within the company. As a result, I have grown over the years and gained knowledge of organising, planning, machine knowledge, project-based, teamwork and much more. Even more importantly in my growth was the power of trust in yourself and thinking of a solution rather than immediately of problems.
What makes me proud are the many packaging formats that I encounter, for example, the supermarkets, fantastic to see! It feels so powerful that all this packaging originated at Omori Europe, our knowledge in the field of packaging is unlimited, which makes our company special.
The right team spirit and a positive attitude
Omori Europe is a great company that we can all be proud of, but a good healthy working atmosphere must be the basis for success. What I find important is the right team spirit and a healthy, positive attitude.
I loved my visits to Omori Machinery in Tokyo, where I had to purchase and approve packaging machines just before leaving for Oldenzaal. Together with Jeroen, we once purchased 12 machines for a huge project, with our knowledge/specialism, we showed in Japan how the final packaging should be. The Japanese mechanics used this as a basis, so that the 12 machines were perfectly adjusted before they arrived in Oldenzaal. It was also nice that I had a personal guide in Jeroen, to be able to see more of Tokyo in that week.
“Giving the right advice and confidence”
What I really like now and what gives me a lot of energy is to give our customers the right advice and confidence, which in turn results in great orders at Omori Europe. That gives me a lot of satisfaction in my position as a salesperson.
My hobby is cycling, in which I am also very fanatical. This picture was taken on the Col de La Bonette in France. A climb of 24km long, and the altitude is 2800 meters. Next year we will cycle in the Pyrenees for a week. By cycling frequently, at least 2 times a week, I try to stay fit and mentally strong. I’d like to go to Rome again by bike, to me its beautiful to cycle through the mountain landscapes and past the idyllic villages in Tuscany. Don’t know when yet, but this challenge to ROME continues!!
